The Quiet Weight No One Sees

“There is a kind of sadness that speaks in silence, rests in the corners of a smile,
and waits to be seen without needing to explain itself.”

This is for the sadness that has no reason.

The kind that lingers even when nothing is visibly wrong.

When the grades are good, the kids are fine, and the house is quiet

but something inside still feels heavy.

It’s the quiet weight no one sees.

The pressure of always being the strong one.

The ache of missing your child while pretending you’re okay.

The slow realization that you don’t remember the last time someone asked how you really feel.

This sadness doesn’t scream.

It whispers when no one’s looking.

It hides behind “I’m fine.”

It softens your smile, drains your energy, and makes you wonder

Is it okay to feel this way when everything looks so good?

Yes, it is.

You don’t need to be fixed.

You don’t need to explain.

You’re allowed to feel what you feel, even if it makes no sense to anyone else.

Some days, showing up is enough.

And today, writing this is me showing up for myself.

If you’re carrying quiet sadness too, you’re not alone.

We are allowed to be soft. We are allowed to rest.

And one day, this heaviness will lift.
